April 29  Travel day from Casblanca to Venice Italy. It was a 2 hr and 45 min flight but we were at the airport 3 hours early -UGH! It was easy to purchase the water bus ticket to take us from the airport to Venice and the ride was in nice weather. I was a little worried our luggage would roll off the boat but all was OK. The walk from the bus stop to the AirBnB apartment went smoothly - YEAH!

April 30  We are out to find breakfast groceries by 9 am. The streets were already getting crowded. Back at the apartment, Gary cooked up a nice breakfast to get us ready for a day of walking. Walk we did! We didn’t use the map. On 4 different occasions, we found ourselves at a dead end. Since it was a Sunday, the church ladies were out and spreading the local gossip. We had a wonderful late lunch of Sea Bass which was artfully de-boned by the waiter. Thank goodness my legs were prepared (Moroccan steps) for all the steps one must climb when going over the many Venice bridges otherwise I would be complaining. Gee maybe I am complaining???

May 1 Easy day!  Two goals for the day - find the recommended restaurant and the laundry-mat. May 1st is a Holiday for the workers (like our Labor Day). The restaurant was closed so ate at a restaurant close by. Found the laundry-mat.  This picture to the right is over the top of the court-yard gate where the apartment is located. I feel like a queen every time I enter the court-yard.

May 2 There are many sights all over the world that I don’t mind seeing over and over again: the Eiffel Tower in Paris; the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.;  Chao Phraya River in Bangkok; the statue of David in Florence and the city of Venice. Seeing Saint Mark’s square, the canals and all the many bridges is so heart warming, it is always nice to steep for a few days in it’s charm.

May 3 Off to the train station: Venice to Bologna to Ancona. We caught the SNAV ferry to Split, Croatia.
